Phase 1: Research
PROBLEM
Children with special needs often experience isolation, or worse; conversely, neuro-typical children, who have demonstrative compassion and leadership, have no means to offer help.
AUDIENCE
RESEARCH
Research determined that 70% of participating parents are single mothers, typically 35- 45 y.o, 75% have a special needs child, usually between 8-12 y.o, (85%).
Without direct competitors, discussions were first catalyzed by researching indirect competitors, such as "Wag!"; metrics, surveys, focus groups, and A/B testing was subsequently used to inform our prototype iterations.
Proto-Persona

Journey-mapping
I organized surveys and focus groups, to identify complaints and concerns that parents of children with special needs face, when making play-dates; results were tabulated into a common scenario.

Story-Boarding
I wrote and illustrated a client-oriented story-board, addressing how the pinch-points identified by discussion groups are resolved by a user-friendly app.
